A Competition process resulted in The Burrell Company producing three of the major buildings on this exposition site. Located in the East End of the City, adjacent to an area that has suffered the ravages of urban decay, the Homes for the Future process created a significant catalyst that, in time, would ensure the successful and ongoing regeneration of this part of the City. Perhaps the most notable building in the development was that of Ushida Findlay. Against all professional advice, the market responded very positively to the development demonstrating that design can bring added value and can overcome the stigma associated with a deprived urban area.
