When Premier Burrell prepared to sell its prestigious Schaw House apartments, the search began for an agent with local expertise and a passion for historic buildings.
Having worked for Savills, one of the UK's leading residential selling agents, for over three years, 30 year old Bearsden local, Romina Verrecchia, was the perfect choice. No stranger to marketing individual properties, her enthusiasm for old buildings which have been painstakingly restored to their former glory saw her snap up the opportunity without hesitation.
Following a BA Business Administration & Marketing at the University of Paisley, and an MSc E-commerce Technology at Glasgow Caledonian University, Romina has built a strong career in the industry. Prior to accepting a position at Savills, she gained experience with Stewart Milne Timber Systems and Knight Frank.
In her role as selling agent for Schaw House, Romina is responsible for introducing potential buyers to the striking property and oversee sales from the point of reservation through to handover.
Romina said: "Schaw House is an absolute delight to sell. It is not very often that people have the opportunity to purchase part of a stunning Tudor Gothic building dating back to the 19th century.
"I never tire of seeing people's reactions when they first tour inside Schaw House. Many people who come to view the property expect the interiors to perhaps have a dated look, but Premier Burrell, whose expertise lies in regenerating old properties, has done an excellent job in retaining many of the original features combined with the perfect mix of contemporary décor and the magnificence of the exterior and its striking central tower."
Having lived in the area for a number of years, Romina is well tuned to the Bearsden community's character and attributes.
Romina explained: "The Schaw House development is located in Old Bearsden and is in close proximity to a fantastic selection of shops, cafés and bars. The area is thriving yet peaceful making it a perfect location for young professionals, families or retirees looking to downsize.
"Local interest in the properties is high given that the building has been a staple of the community for well over a century. The original building was designed by James Thomson of Baird & Thomson and was once used as an overflow hospital unit for patients requiring urgent medical attention during World War Two before becoming a convalescent home for Glasgow Royal Infirmary and latterly a private nursing home. However, even more recently the property has been used as a location to film an episode of Taggart."
With only a handful of properties left to sell at Schaw House, Romina's role may soon be coming to an end.
