Leading regeneration experts The Burrell Company is set to launch the long awaited restoration project at Hawkhead Village in Paisley in April, 2008.
The former Hawkhead Hospital, originally designed by world famous Scottish interwar architect Thomas Smith Tait, will be transformed by specialists in urban regeneration, The Burrell Company. With over 20 years experience, the company will nurse the forgotten hospital buildings back to life and reawaken their 1930's Art Deco grandeur providing a great place to live.
Paisley born Thomas Smith Tait gained recognition through working on a number of Scottish and international commissions with past accomplishments including the Daily Telegraph building in London, the pylons on Sydney Harbour Bridge and St Andrews House in Edinburgh.
In partnership with Kier Homes, the overall development will comprise 326 properties within the hospital and grounds. The Burrell Company will create 131 homes which will be a mix of refurbished and new build whilst Kier Homes will create 195 homes consisting of apartments, townhouses and detached villas. All built to complement the surrounding landscape.
On completion, the new development will beautifully combine the old with the new providing a mix of converted and new build apartments, detached homes, cottages, townhouses and duplexes, set within stunning landscaped grounds.
Interested parties will have the opportunity to view The Burrell Company's plans by visiting the stylish on site Marketing Suite, which will supply information and brochures on future plans, CGI videos and a model of the future development.
Linda Neill, Sales Manager at The Burrell Company commented: "Hawkhead Village
is hugely anticipated by homebuyers due to the great historic significance of the Listed hospital buildings and their distinctive Art Deco design, as well as the prime central belt location. We have already received many notes of interest and previous experience has shown us that converted properties are a huge hit among house hunters looking to buy a property steeped in history and character, and in a great location."
Andrew Burrell, Managing Director of The Burrell Company said: "Hawkhead Village will offer the best of both worlds in converting old buildings into modern homes, attracting a wide mix of interested potential home buyers.
"We have expertise in renovating beautiful architecture like this, with our portfolio including such projects as Drumsheugh Gardens in Edinburgh, Schaw House in Bearsden and Elmhill House in Aberdeen. We are confident the new properties will be well received by both local residents and individuals from further afield that are looking to relocate to this prime Glasgow catchment area."
The development is located on Hawkhead Road, Paisley. The first properties by The Burrell Company will be released at the launch at the end April 2008. The Marketing Suite will open daily from 10:30am - 5pm.
