Phase 1 of an ambitious Glasgow city centre warehouse conversion is set to get underway after Premier Burrell appointed Chard Construction as contractors on its latest residential and office development, the Vienna Apartments.
The forgotten site located above the busy thoroughfare of Union Street will be transformed into 32 luxury one, two and three bed-roomed apartments with spacious office opportunities on the ground floor.
Under the plans, Premier Burrell, a joint venture between The Premier Property Group and The Burrell Company, will use its expertise to ensure many of the characteristics of the 'B' listed building can be restored and enhanced while also creating a contemporary twist to suit the lifestyle of potential buyers.
The Vienna Apartments is the latest in The Burrell Company's developments in the city. Past projects include the restoration of The Piping Centre; new housing accommodation at Carrick Quay on the River Clyde and Lyndoch Street which regenerated the former B-listed Park School for Girls building into attractive homes.
Andrew Burrell, Managing Director of The Burrell Company, said: "I am looking forward to bringing these forgotten and derelict buildings in a key area of Glasgow back to life.
"Phase 1 of the Vienna Apartments will provide apartments which are individual in both size and style plus boast a variety of unique features such as atriums and Victorian light wells that will help create peaceful and bright living conditions.
"To help us achieve these important objectives we have appointed experienced contractor Chard Construction who understand exactly what we are looking for."
